Nestled along Hunter Street in Newcastle, this cafe offers a calm and cozy spot for those who appreciate thoughtfully prepared coffee and a simple, satisfying menu. Regulars tend to come for a well-made cappuccino or a strong batch brew, enjoying the understated quality rather than anything overly flashy. The food leans toward approachable choices like artichoke and kimcheese toasties, avocado toast on gluten-free bread, and generous slices of banana bread that are more than enough to share.
The vibe during a typical visit is relaxed but with a quiet buzz—ideal for anyone looking to settle in with a laptop or enjoy a casual catch-up. The space feels inviting and friendly without being overwhelming, offering outdoor seating alongside accessible options for all guests. Solo diners seem comfortable here, as do families with kids, all drawn by the straightforward, fresh menu and the steady rhythm of Hunter Street outside.
Breakfast and lunch crowds overlap here, with many appreciating the variety of teas alongside the coffee, plus vegetarian options that fit easily into casual weekend plans or a midday break. Whether it’s a quick takeaway or lingering over a light brunch, the atmosphere is grounded and unpretentious, making it a quietly satisfying choice in the neighborhood.

5 Fresh flaky croissant and smooth creamy coffee with lovely latte art. Great spot for a relaxed breakfast.
5 Love it here!! Best coffee. I will forever come in for the coeliac safe gluten free avo toast (best gf bread!!), yummy gf cakes and incredible coffee.. and stay for the fun vibe, banter and people watching along Hunter Street.
5 Banana bread too feed a family of 4. Was so impressed by the portion size of Banana bread + super super strong coffee for only $12. I felt walking out door was going to charge for shop lifting. Post photo really tasty.
4 Cool looking newish cafe with a definite potential to grow in popularity. My friends short black was lacking intensity she said. But I was treated to a yummy batch brew which was great for someone who value e s an easy start to the day without the powerful intensity if a short black. The menu includes some interesting new terms so I'll be back to try those. I guess that's the point behind "new slang"
5 Quite a lovely atmosphere with terrific customer service! Even when I was one of those annoying customers who changes their minds at the last minute, the staff accommodated me and were so friendly! The food here is actually really nice, bread used for the toasties is much better quality and around the same price as the bread you'd find elsewhere, better crunch and not soggy. I also recommend the brownie 100% Coffee was sub par to be perfectly honest, but not terrible and would love to try again! Tldr, good food, decent coffee, lovely staff, great pricing!
5 Fantastic coffee Stopped in for coffee and found my new favourite place in Newy for a brew. They stock an array of treats to dine in or takeaway. Brunch menu looks yummy. Clean toilet facilities available for both dine in and takeaway customers. Super friendly staff.
5 The chicken toastie is delicious! It’s a nice place to grab something to eat that’s less than $20. Service was lovely and attentive. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a small menu but great for a coffee shop. There are a few hot lunch options as well as sweet treats in the cabinet.
The cappuccino and artichoke toastie come highly recommended, along with their gluten-free avo toast and generous banana bread portions.
